Statement

My work begins where language ends.

I am drawn to the psychological territories that resist easy description — vulnerability, duality, the pressure between who we are and who the world expects us to be. These are not abstract ideas to me. They are lived experiences that I bring to the canvas with acrylic, movement, and intentional distortion.

Working between expressionist portraiture and bold abstraction, I build figures and forms that exist in a state of becoming — never fully resolved, always in motion. I do not pursue realism. I pursue emotional truth. The visible distortions in my work are not errors; they are the point. They reflect the way inner experience bends outward reality.

Color in my paintings is not decorative. It is structural — carrying weight, mood, and psychological tension. Layered brushwork builds surfaces that reward close looking, where each mark records a decision made in the moment of creation.

I was trained at the Art League at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia — one of the most respected working artist communities in the United States. My work has been exhibited at the Torpedo Factory Art Center and at Nepenthe Art Gallery in Virginia. I now work from Amman, Jordan, where the tension between tradition and transformation continues to shape my practice.

Themes of resilience, identity, and the interior life run through everything I make. I paint because silence is not enough.
